TIM FARRON has been mocked on social media for being caught on camera saying the phrase “smell my spaniel”.

The Lib Dem leader was fussing over a pooch in Cambridge when he uttered the odd phrase.

But it is probably a reference to Mr Farron’s own springer spaniel Jasper.

Perhaps the dog could smell his scent on the Lib Dem chief – as he was not present at the rally.
