Air France declares emergency after the plane was hit by lightening between Paris and Birmingham

AN Air France plane was hit by a bolt of lightening and declared a mid-air emergency while flying from Paris to Birmingham.

The flight had left Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport this afternoon when the emergency was declared after a bolt struck the plane.

Despite the alarm sounding and the emergency declared the flight landed safely in Birmingham and no one was hurt.
