Public-sector workers ‘are being paid up to £4,000 less because of cap on salary increases’

KEY public-sector workers have seen a pay cut of thousands of pounds thanks to years of austerity, new figures showed today.

Prison officers’ salaries have fallen by the equivalent of nearly £4,000 a year since 2010, with firefighters losing £2,900 and teachers getting a £2,400 cut.
